What is Pop Culture? To me pop culture is something that many people do and or share. Like something traditional that follows through years until something bigger rises and takes over that culture. That's what it seems to be happening as years pass. Pop Culture goes up then dies while others may rise and become pop. Then again the culture doesn't die right away just forms a small group.

  1. You reminded me of random things that were common place and are getting relegated to smaller groups. My mother was born in Mexico so these are just a few examples in my experience. In Mexico, everyone it seems owns a VW beetle. More than half of drivers in Mexico know how to drive a stick shift car. My siblings and I learned to drive a manual transmission before learning to drive an automatic car. My mother would make tortillas almost every day, I had to learn how to make tortillas as a child. We spoke Spanish at home and English at school. I have plenty of nephews and nieces. None know how to make tortillas. Only half are bilingual. My brother’s children do not speak Spanish. It is easy to say my family is becoming assimilated but I think it is sad to lose the ability to speak a 2nd language.

    1. I know what you are exactly talking about. Before I use to speak Spanish really good and write and understand it but when I started going to school I had to learn English which became my second language but now my first because my Spanish just started fading away. I don't know how to write or speak Spanish much as I use to which does suck but I do understand a little still to know what others say. I would be excluded in way to speaking Spanish because I can't really speak it.
